Mario Gotze - Spotlight on

Mario Gotze has dropped a huge transfer hint.

Jurgen Klopp is monitoring the situation of the World Cup winner with one of Carlo Ancelotti's first big decisions when he takes over at Bayern Munich set to be whether to keep him.

Gotze was given his big break under Klopp at Borussia Dortmun before moving to Bayern in 2013 when they triggered a £27.5million release clause, but he has fallen out of favour with coach Pep Guardiola.

Arsenal are close to securing their first January signing with Arsene Wenger revealing a move for Mohamed Elneny could be done soon.

Elneny is set to join from Swiss side Basel and provide midfield cover for Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla, who are both injured.

"It is complicated a little bit but we are working hard on it and hopefully in the next two or three days we will get to the end of it," Wenger said.

Manchester United have been told to forget about signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Zinedine Zidane has told United their former star is staying put.

"Cristiano is more than non-transferable," said the Frenchman.

"He is the soul of the team. He's going nowhere."
