Alexis Sanchez has been out since the end of the November
The Chilean has missed the last nine games after sustaining a hamstring injury against Norwich at the end of November.
The 27-year-old has twice been close to a return but both times his comeback was postponed.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been urging caution with his star man but after his side's thrilling 3-3 draw with Liverpool last night, the Frenchman revealed Sanchez will have a fitness test on the weekend.
"I will be cautious now. There is an opportunity that he will be in the squad for Sunday," Wenger said.
