ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger has opened up on Olivier Giroud's lack of form.

Olivier Giroud has not scored in his last 14 Premier League games

failed to find the back of the net in yesterday to make it 14 Premier League outings without a goal. 

The striker is currently enduring his longest run without a league goal since arriving for around £10million from Montpellier four years ago.

And , whose side are battling for another top-four finish after missing out on the title this term, believes Giroud is suffering due to a lack of confidence.

"It's true. The team got less forward to him in the second half. But strikers live on confidence and at the moment we have to be behind him," Wenger said.

"Our first half was good, the basis is good. The final ball was maybe not quick enough sometimes and our finishing was not the best.

"We had good domination but we created chances and didn't take them. It was the kind of game where we needed to go in front because I thought we might suffer physically."
