Ryan Giggs believes Jose Mourinho will suit Manchester United.

The Welshman recently stepped away from the Red Devils after 29 years with the club.

He told CNN: “Jose Mourinho is obviously a top, top manager. United are always about winning trophies – and he’s proven."

Mourinho has confirmed Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling and Marcus Rashford won't play in United's pre-season tour of China later this month.

The English contingent will travel with the squad but they won't play against Borussia Dortmund or rivals City in the International Champions Cup.

Mourinho told MUTV: "I am taking the English boys [to China] - that I wasn't expecting but they're coming. I will take them but I'm not going to play them.

“What is more important is to work, to be together, to live together 24-hours every day during the week and finally when you come back from China is when the others are waiting for us."

And in transfer news, United have reportedly reached a £103million agreement with Juventus to sign Paul Pogba, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.

He tweeted: "All confirmed: Manchester United reached agreement with Pogba for 13m€ wages per year and will bid 120m€.

"Note: if Manchester United finalise the deal, then will break any record paying Pogba 145m€ (120 to Juve + 25 to agent).

"Pogba wages at Manchester United would be approximately treble than what he earns at Juventus."
