EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest Arsenal transfer news.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 5 things you need to know

Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit to sign a new striker, with target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ruling out a Borussia Dortmund exit this summer.

Aubameyang, who is valued at around £59million, has also been linked with Manchester City but insists the only club he would leave Dortmund for in the future is Real Madrid.

Speaking to German TV channel ZDF, he said: “The only club that could move me away from Dortmund is Real Madrid, and no other [club] in this moment.”

The Gunners are desperate to add competition for Olivier Giroud next season and have also been linked with Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette, Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi and AC Milan's Carlos Bacca.

Meanwhile, Arsene Wenger has received a welcome boost as he looks to bring Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez to the Emirates before the window slams shut.

According to the Daily Mail, Leicester have made a £6.25m bid for Cracovia and Poland winger Bartosz Kaputska as they brace themselves for life without Mahrez.

Arsene Wenger says Isaac Hayden was wasting his career at Arsenal

And finally, was because the 21-year-old was 'wasting his career' at Arsenal.

“He couldn't get the chance here and I decided to let him go and have an opportunity,” Wenger said.

"At 21 years of age, you need to play or you stand still - and if you stand still you waste your career.

“I gave him a chance to go up to Hull [on loan]. It went quite well, they liked him and they wanted to buy him as well. I think Newcastle is a good opportunity for him.”
