ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger has refused to deny speculation that his club have made a bid for Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez.

Mahrez, who was named PFA Player of the Year last season, helped the Foxes win the most unlikely of Premier League titles by scoring 17 goals in 36 league appearances.

That impressive form has led to talk that he could be about to join Arsenal, who are aiming to bolster their squad with the new season less than two weeks away.

And Wenger, who was spotted at Leicester's game with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, has fuelled talk that he wants to bring Mahrez to the Emirates Stadium.

When asked if he was keeping an eye on Mahrez, Wenger told Bein Sports: "Yes, of course, we watch all the players, you know.

"But we play Leicester in the second game of the championship so of course it's a good opportunity for us tonight to see them

"I cannot give you a yes or no because we do not publicise our transfer interest.

"The best way to make things happen is to keep it as secret as possible."

Arsenal have made just two signings so far in the form of Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding.

They have already missed out on one Leicester star, with Jamie Vardy snubbing a move to north London to stay with the current champions.
