MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho insists he has had no contact with Roman Abramovich since leaving Chelsea.

Mourinho will visit his former club for the first time on Sunday (4pm) when travel to face the west London outfit.

Blues owner Abramovich sacked Mourinho last Christmas after a dismal start to the campaign.

The Portuguese tactician succeeded Louis van Gaal in May, but he has had a mixed start to the season.

And he has revealed he hasn’t spoken to the Russian billionaire after being given the axe as they were never particularly close.

When asked about his contact with Abramovich post-Chelsea, Mourinho told Sky Sports“No. But we always kept that kind of relation. He was respected like that.

"I was the manager and I was respected like that. We were never close friends.

"If I go to his house, I go for professional reasons and for a professional meeting.
