MANCHESTER UNITED have no intention of selling Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January, according to fresh reports.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan: This is how you pronounce my name

Mkhitaryan has struggled at Manchester United since making the £30million move from Borussia Dortmund over the summer.

The Armenia international has started just one Premier League game this season and is yet to feature in the Europa League or any domestic cup competition.

And according to The Sun, Jose Mourinho has been unimpressed by the 27-year-old and is considering moving on the winger in January.

However, the Manchester Evening News claim Mkhitaryan will be going nowhere in January.

The former Dortmund man has reportedly been putting in the hours on the training ground to earn himself a place in United's starting XI.

And the report says he is fully fit and is keen to impress after a sensational season with Dortmund in which he scored 23 goals in all competitions last term.

explained last week Mkhitaryan's lack of game time was because he was lacking what he called "match intensity".

"One thing is fit and not injured, another is match fitness, match intensity and ready to play this game," Mourinho said.

"I play with Lingard and Martial, I have on the bench Rashford and Memphis Depay, I cannot play with everyone at the same time."

However, Mkhitaryan could feature in United's EFL Cup fourth round clash with Manchester City tonight (8pm).

Mourinho has already lost once to old foe Pep Guardiola 2-1 in the Premier League when the two sides met in September.

The United boss will also be looking for a turn-around after suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat at at the weekend.
