Arsene Wenger: Arsenal were nervous against Tottenham and I don't know why

ARSENE WENGER admits his Arsenal team were nervous during their 1-1 draw with Tottenham today.

“I felt we had some good spells in the game and it was a bit hectic, nervous,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“I don’t question the spirit of our team and the way we wanted to fight.

“But overall our fluency and movement, we played a little bit too nervously.”

Wenger brought on Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud in the second half to try and find a winning goal.

But held on for a deserved point.

“Sometimes these decisions come off, sometimes not,” Wenger said of his substitutions.

“I felt we needed something, more availability around the ball.

“We didn’t play out from the back today as much as we can.

“It was all a bit hectic and not as fluent as we can play.”
