The Gunners had to deal with the non-league side’s artificial surface in their FA Cup tie.

But two goals from Lucas Perez and Theo Walcott ensured Arsenal prevailed 2-0 winners and earned their quarter-final tie against Lincoln.

Surprisingly, star man Sanchez was introduced from the bench with 17 minutes left to play, even though the Gunners had their two-goal advantage.

The Chile international avoided picking up a problem, as did his Arsenal team-mates.

And Wenger has outlined Alexis Sanchez was not in danger, but revealed the sort of players he felt would have been.

“He is a guy who has a strong body,” Wenger said.

“I think on this pitch, it is the guy who does not have good co-ordination, who is heavy on his feet, who is in trouble.

“He is more a guy who has very good co-ordination, light on his feet. I don’t think it was a risk.”

Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil was given the night off as he posted a picture on his Snapchat of him on a plane heading for a short break.

Arsenal now have an extended period to regroup and prepare for their crucial next two games at Liverpool in the Premier League on March 4 before Bayern Munich go to the Emirates for their Champions League round of 16 second leg three days later.
