Antonio Conte reveals Chelsea transfer plans after beating Tottenham

ANTONIO CONTE has revealed Chelsea will go through a "transition" to replace Branislav Ivanovic, John Obi Mikel and John Terry.

John Obi Mikel left Chelsea for Chinese club Tianjin TEDA in January after 10 years’ service.

Branislav Ivanovic joined Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg at the end of the January transfer window after nine years at Stamford Bridge.

And last week club captain John Terry announced he would be leaving at the end of the season after 22 years with Chelsea.

Chelsea set up an FA Cup final against Arsenal by beating Tottenham 4-2 at Wembley on Saturday.

The Mirror say Chelsea are plotting a £120million double bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk.

Conte has also been linked with Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as he looks to stamp his mark on the Blues squad - like Mauricio Pochettino has done at Tottenham.

"If you compare our team with Tottenham's, Pochettino has worked for three years,” the 47-year-old added. “I started to work only seven or eight months ago.

"If we are able to take the right player to improve this squad and to continue to work with these players, we can improve for sure.”
