Barcelona are confident of signing Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool if Neymar leaves

Barcelona forward Neymar is linked with a world-record move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Coutinho is wanted as his replacement.

Neymar scored in his side's 1-0 pre-season friendly win over Manchester United last night but reports claim he has agreed a five-year deal with PSG.

Liverpool are desperate not to sell star man Coutinho and are said to have slapped a £134million price-tag on him to warn off any potential suitors.

But Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth believes Barcelona are confident they can get their man in the current transfer window.

It's thought Barcelona are increasingly confident of signing the Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho

"Neymar scored the only goal in Barcelona's victory against Manchester United overnight," Sheth said on Sky Sports News.

"Was it his last goal for the club ahead of a potential £200million move?

"His current manager (Ernesto Valverde) wasn't too forthcoming after the game.

"Valverde wasn't asked about another target, Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool do not want to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona

"It's thought Barcelona are increasingly confident of signing the Liverpool forward, especially if Neymar leaves.

"Liverpool are unmoved in their stance, the player is not for sale.

"Coutinho signed a new five-year contract at Anfield in January."

Coutinho has scored 34 goals in 138 Premier League appearances since arriving from Serie A giants Inter Milan in 2013.
