Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil have both entered the final year of their deals, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs could also leave Arsenal for free in 12 months' time.

Wenger tried to see the positive side, saying it could be an "ideal situation" for the club as the players would be motivated to perform to impress potential suitors.

"I think in the future, you will see it more and more. Why? Because the transfers are so high, even for normal players," he told reporters.

"You will see more and more players going into the final year of the contract because no club will want to pay the amount demanded... in the next 10 years, it will become usual.

"I think the performance on the day does not depend on the length of the contract, if that was true we would sign everyone for 20 years and be happy."

"I refuse to say more than I'm telling you.

"I think we have a chance but in football until it’s official, I saw so many things happen."

Marouane Fellaini to stay

Jose Mourinho has confirmed Marouane Fellaini won't be leaving Manchester United amid interest from Galatasaray.

He said: "It's easier for Galatasaray to get me than Marouane.

"He is too important to me. No chance."

Matic to wear 31

Nemanja Matic is set to wear the No 31 shirt at Manchester United.

The No 31 was vacated by Bastian Schweinsteiger in March when he left Old Trafford for MLS side Chicago Fire.

Matic’s favoured number is 21, having worn that for the last seven seasons with Chelsea and Benfica.

The Serbia international also dons 21 for his country - but at United Ander Herrera has that shirt leaving him with 31.

The Chelsea midfielder was pictured in a grey Manchester United training kit with the number 31 on social media this afternoon.

And the Manchester Evening News say Matic underwent medical checks at United’s HQ today and could announce his signing tonight.

Neymar has an offer from PSG to join the Ligue 1 side.

Barcelona don’t want their star to leave but Valverde has conceded the power is out of their hands, with PSG able to trigger his £196m release clause.

"I try to talk about things that are happening, not things that can happen,” Valverde said on Neymar after Barca’s 3-2 friendly win over Real Madrid in Miami last night.

“We’re going to wait, but we think Neymar will help us this season.

“I see him here on the field and we hope he’ll stay.”

And Perisic could not help but tease Red Devils supporters today by posting on Instagram Stories.

The 28-year-old uploaded a picture of his daughter outside what appears to be an ice cream shop with love eyes and praying emoticons and the hashtag #Manu.

Oh Ivan you cheeky boy…

Fellaini to Galatasaray agreed

The Turkish club confirmed yesterday they are in talks to sign the Belgium international.

And according to The Guardian, an agreement between Galatasaray and Fellaini has been reached in principle over a four-year contract.

The midfielder is now set to receive £3.6m a year in Turkey, which works out to about £70,000 a week.

It is added Galatasaray president Dursun Ozbek, or another board member, are due in Manchester tomorrow or Tuesday to finalise a transfer.

Fellaini has flown to Norway with the United squad ahead of their pre-season friendly with Valerenga, however, a move appears imminent.

Ramos on Neymar deal

13:23: Sergio Ramos says he is happy to see Neymar linked with PSG.

PSG want to sign Neymar in a £196m deal.

And Real Madrid’s Ramos says Neymar leaving Barcelona will only held the Bernabeu side.

Asked about the move, Ramos said: “I don’t know, everybody is free to decide their own future.

“I hope it does happen, it’ll be one less problem for us.”

Ramos swapped shirts with Neymar after the friendly in Miami and explained why he called the 25-year-old over.

“I swapped shirts with him after the game and hopefully it'll be the last one he's worn for Barcelona,” he said.

Bayern's Sanches stance

12:54: Bayern Munich will only let Renato Sanches leave on loan - and Chelsea are willing to accept a deal.

Bayern want Sanches to gain experience somewhere else after an indifferent first season in Germany.

But Corriere dello Sport claim a loan move is possible and Chelsea are keen on the deal, as are AC Milan.

Real Madrid bombshell coming

12:17: Florentino Perez is preparing to make a big transfer announcement at Real Madrid within the next 10 days.

Real Madrid have endured a poor pre-season, losing to Manchester United on penalties and going down 4-1 to Manchester City before being beaten 3-2 by bitter rivals Barcelona in the early hours of this morning.

And while Real boss Zinedine Zidane publicly played down the importance of the result, he and president Perez are thought to be concerned with the side's defence and attack.

According to Spanish website Don Balon, Real are now expected to press ahead with their world-record move for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe.

Leeds have already signed nine players this summer but the recruitment drive looks set to continue.

Leeds are also interested in former Manchester City player Alvaro Negredo, who is currently at Valencia.

Perez to Newcastle

10:56: Newcastle want to sign Arsenal striker Lucas Perez, having given up on their hope of landing Danny Ings from Liverpool.

Perez wants to quit Arsenal following his disappointing debut season at the Gunners last term.

The Perez wants a return to La Liga, with Deportivo La Coruna keen on a deal.

But the Sun on Sunday claim Arsenal are looking for a buyer for the 28-year-old and Newcastle seem a more likely option.

Perez cost Arsenal £17m last summer.

Conte to demand more cash

10:26: Antonio Conte fears the sack this season if he cannot strengthen his Chelsea squad further.

Conte will go to the Chelsea board and ask for more funds for players.

Conte is wary that Chelsea struggled in the 2015/16 campaign after winning the title with Jose Mourinho, who was sacked in December of that season.

“We know the next season will be tough and we want to avoid what happened in the previous season for Chelsea, two years ago, when the team finished in 10th place in the Premier League,” Conte said.

“We want to try to avoid this. I want to try to avoid what happened two seasons ago.

“Two coaches have been sacked from Chelsea and Leicester after winning the league and I want to avoid this and the players want to avoid the bad season they had with Mourinho.

“We are working very well and we hope to find the best solution in the future. We have a lot of young players and if necessary we will have to try to play these players.”

Arsenal's Barkley advice

09:52: Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith says the Gunners must sign either Riyad Mahrez or Ross Barkley this summer.

Smith told talkSPORT: “I’d say [Arsenal should go after] Mahrez more than Barkley.

“I think he’s more of a match winner and he’s a more mature player.

“I’ve just come back from Hong Kong watching Liverpool and Leicester in the Asia Trophy, and Mahrez looked sharp.

“Whether he’s playing for a move, putting himself in the shop window, I don’t know.

“He’s definitely a Champions League player, although I know Arsenal aren’t in that competition this year.”

Everton's Barkley has six interested

09:30 Six clubs want to sign Everton’s Ross Barkley this summer.

Barkley is free to leave Everton but the Toffees do want a reasonable transfer fee for the England midfielder.

But four more clubs - Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham - are also vying for the player.

PSG target Sanchez after Neymar

09:00: Paris Saint-Germain will launch a £35million bid for Alexis Sanches AFTER they have signed Neymar.

Express Sport understands PSG are all set to land Neymar after the striker’s spat during Barcelona’s tour of the USA.

The French club will smash the transfer record to land Barcelona’s star striker.

And they will then move on to Sanchez, who has just 12 months remaining on his Arsenal contract.

It is still to be known if Sanchez will return to Arsenal training, having posted a picture on social media earlier this week claiming he is sick.

Man Utd’s £90m Bale plan

08:30: Manchester United still want to sign Gareth Bale and will wait until next season before launching a £90m move for the Welshman.

Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett this week rubbished claims Bale could join United this summer.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane faces a selection headache if he signs Kylian Mbappe this summer.

But Express Sport understands United are realistic about their chances of securing Bale.

Instead, they will make their offer next summer when they have time to negotiate the transfer.

Chelsea transfer demand

08:00: Antonio Conte will ask for more new signings next week to make sure he does not endure a bad second season at Chelsea.

Conte won the Premier League title in his first campaign at Stamford Bridge and signed a new Blues contract this summer.

That mirrors Jose Mourinho’s second stint at Chelsea, where he won the league in 2015 and was rewarded with a new deal.

But Mourinho was sacked four months later after a disastrous start to their title defence.

And the Sunday Ties claims Conte is aware of the cut-throat nature of the position he holds and wants more new signings to guarantee Chelsea get off to a good start.

Coutinho’s Barcelona request

07:30: Philippe Coutinho has taken his transfer saga into his own hands by asking Jurgen Klopp to let him leave for Barcelona.

Liverpool are desperate to keep Coutinho and have already rejected Barca’s £72m initial approach for the Brazilian.

But the Sunday Mirror claim that has not gone down well with Coutinho, who is keen to see what Barca can offer.

They claim the 25-year-old has spoken to Klopp and expressed his desire to head to Spain.
