Tottenham and Arsenal join race to sign £9m Yann Karamoh

TOTTENHAM and Arsenal reportedly want to sing Caen striker Yann Karamoh, dubbed the ‘next Kylian Mbappe’.

Caen striker Yann Karamoh finishes off epic counterattack

Karamoh, 19, has just 12 months remaining on his Caen contract and the League 1 side want to sell.

The highly-rated French youngster impressed last season, scoring five goals for the Ligue 1 minnows.

And his availability has caused a number of Europe’s top clubs to take note.

According to the Sun on Sunday, Karamoh can leave for just £9million and has the pace and versatility that many have likened to Mbappe.

Arsenal wanted to sign Mbappe this summer but saw an £87m bid rejected by Monaco.

The Ligue 1 champions want in excess of £100m for their gem and only Real Madrid are left considering that a move.

Tottenham are yet to sign anyone this summer as manager Mauricio Pochettino concentrates on growing his team.

That boss’ purse strings are also restricted by the cost of the new stadium Spurs are building in time for next season.

Pochettino has not enjoyed much success buying players from the French league, with last summer’s signing Clinton N'Jie being sent back to Marseille, Georges-Kevin Nkoudou struggling to get in the side and former Toulouse star Moussa Sissoko - bought after a disappointing spell at Newcastle - proving a flop.

As for Arsenal, they signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon earlier this summer in a club-record transfer.

The Sun on Sunday claim Southampton are also eyeing Karamoh after offloading Jay Rodriguez onto West Brom.
