Thomas Lemar to Arsenal: I think signing will be completed - Perry Groves

THOMAS LEMAR will complete a move to Arsenal, according to Gunners legend Perry Groves.

Monaco want more than £50million for Lemar, 21, and two Gunners bids have already been rejected.

But Groves, who spent six years at the club, thinks Arsene Wenger will - eventually - get his man.

He told bwin: "I think the Lemar deal will get done, it's coming down to how much.

“I'd like to think we're in the position that if they want £45million, then we go and pay it and send the right message to the player that we want you.

“As mentioned, I still think we're two or three players away from winning the title.”

Arsenal have brought in Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac this summer while Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are still at the club - for now.

Both are out of contract next season and they’ve yet to pen new deals.

Groves added: "I think it's been a successful transfer window. We've bought a proven goalscorer in Lacazette who, with the team we have, should be getting at least 20-25 goals this season.

“He looks strong on the ball, with good link up play but is most lethal inside the six yard box, which we've missed for a long time.

“It will take him a while to settle in, with new teammates but he looks physically capable of succeeding.

“Kolasinac is a beast, very strong and creates a lot of chances as we saw in the Emirates Cup.

"There's no doubt there's still work to be done, we need another two players at least – both first team players.

“I think the most underrated signing this summer was adding Jens Lehmann to the coaching staff. He's got a no-nonsense character, he's a winner and will certainly give the team a kick if they need it."
