Arsenal could face Alexis Sanchez agony: Star wants Man City move over all other offers

ARSENAL risk losing another important player to a Premier League rival with reports claiming Alexis Sanchez has made a move to Manchester City his No1 priority.

Gabriele Marcotti says Alexis Sanchez could still leave Arsenal

Sanchez returned to Arsenal training yesterday after finally moving back to London following an extended break after his Confederations Cup antics with Chile.

However, the 28-year-old's future remains unclear with clubs from both home and abroad desperate to secure his signature.

The winger's current contract expires in less than a year and the Chile international has so far resisted Arsenal's efforts to tie him down to an extension.

Express Sport understands Ligue 1 titans Paris Saint-Germain are ready to launch a £35million bid for him - but only after they have completed the signing of Neymar from Barcelona.

Manchester City are another club in the mix, with Pep Guardiola hellbent on making Sanchez the face of his new-look team.

And, in news that will no doubt anger Arsenal fans, the Daily Mail are claiming the former Barcelona star has made a reunion with Guardiola his top priority.

However, manager Arsene Wenger supposedly sat down with Sanchez and told him in no uncertain terms he would not be sold - especially to a direct rival.

But, if history is anything to go by, it looks more than likely the Gunners' No7 will make the move to the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal lost Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City in 2009

In the last eight years, five players have moved from City to Arsenal.

Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy signed on at the northern giants in 2009 and 2011 respectively.

And Emmanuel Adebayor and Samir Nasri also decided to call time on their Arsenal careers in favour of a move to City.

Bacary Sagna was the last player to transfer between the two teams, albeit as a free agent, in 2014.
