Olivier Giroud set to make decision on Arsenal future after Alexandre Lacazette arrival

OLIVIER GIROUD is edging closer to making a decision on his future and it looks to be good news for Arsenal supporters.

Giroud scores stunning goal for France against Sweden

The Frenchman struggled for game time under Arsene Wenger last term but still managed to find the net 12 times in the league.

Following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon last month Giroud's future was thrown into further doubt with him likely to fall down the pecking order.

Wenger has rotated the pair throughout pre-season with Giroud leading the line in their 5-2 win over Benfica and Lacazette up top on his own against Sevilla last weekend in the Emirates Cup.

But Giroud has previously admitted leaving Arsenal is an option.

Olivier Giroud looks set to stay at Arsenal

Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Marseille have all been linked with making a move for the 30-year-old.

At one stage it looked like Giroud was set to call time on his spell with the Gunners, but French publication Le10 Sport claim he is now prepared to stay.

They say he has been mulling over his future and assessing where he stands in Wenger's plans for the upcoming season with Lacazette in the fold.

Dortmund were said to be leading the chase for Giroud with Pierre-Emerick Aubamyang's future uncertain.

But the Gabon international looks set to remain with the Bundesliga giants and Dortmund have cooled their interest in Giroud as a result.

Giroud does not entertain the idea of a return to his homeland with Marseille and will now fight for his place alongside Lacazatte in north London.
