Barcelona have been linked with a move for Philippe Coutinho ever since Neymar was tipped to leave the Nou Camp.

The former Santos player is now on the brink of joining Paris Saint-Germain, meaning Barca are desperate for a replacement.

And Spanish newspaper Sport claim the Catalan side have offered Liverpool a choice of three players as a makeweight to sweeten a deal for Coutinho.

The report says the Reds have been told they can have Arda Turan, Denis Suarez or Rafinha plus cash for the Brazil international.

Sport have called it 'operation Coutinho' as the La Liga side get desperate to fill the huge void left by Neymar.

However, the face an uphill battle trying to convince Liverpool to part company with the former Inter Milan star.

Coutinho has become a talisman for the Reds over the last few seasons and Jurgen Klopp has insisted on numerous occasions he will not be sold.

"Yes [he is not for sale], but that's not since this morning or yesterday, it's not been any different," Klopp said last month.

"Phil is a very important player for us. He's trying to get back his rhythm but there's no doubt about his quality.

"He's very smart both offensively and defensively.

"I'm not surprised that any club is interested in players at Liverpool. The very important message is that we are not a selling club and that's how it is.

"We believe in working together and developing together. We want to make the next step together and for this we need to stay together."
