Manchester United have been busy this summer spending around £140million on Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.

However, the Red Devils are yet to complete a deal for Ivan Perisic who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for weeks.

United were hopeful of agreeing a cut-price deal for the Croatia winger due to the pressure on Inter to adhere to new financial regulations.

However, the Serie A side have dug their heels in over the last few weeks and Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has suggested United have now given up.

Luciano Spalletti: Conversation of Perisic to Man United is 'over'

"Perisic could stay," Di Marzio said on his official website.

"Manchester United has dropped off from the radar and have not made another attempt."

And Inter are reportedly planning on strengthening further in the wide areas, even if they keep hold of Perisic this summer.

"Even if Perisic does not leave, Inter could still bring in another offensive winger," Di Marzio added.

"[Jonathan] Biabiany will not stay, as the club has authorised his sale to Sparta Prague.

"The player is negotiating his salary with [Andrea] Stramaccioni's team."

Perisic is under contract with Inter until June 2020.

He made 42 appearances for the Italian side last term, scoring 11 goals an providing 12 assists in all competitions.
