Mavididi will spend the year at the Championship side and look to gain first-team experience.

The 19-year-old has scored three goals in two appearances during pre-season and new manager Alex Neil will hope he can help their playoff push.

Last season, Mavididi went on loan to Charlton Athletic and but it was cut short by a severe hamstring injury.

Earlier this week, the teenage striker revealed he had recently received advice from Arsenal legend Ian Wright.

“After I got injured I got a phone call from Wrighty and he was just giving me some advice and just being really nice to me and helping me,” Mavididi told Arsenal.com.

"He just said that I’m still young, that I’ve got a big future ahead of me, just to keep looking at the bigger picture.

"In the bigger picture, it’s a minor setback, only five months out of the game and just keep working hard and come back stronger.

"You’ve just got to be mentally strong and take it day by day, and as the day goes that’s a day closer to fitness, so you've just got to keep digging and just pull through.

"We’re still keeping in contact, so yeah that was a nice touch from Wrighty and Karl Robinson too, to put me in contact with him."
