Gareth Bale to Man Utd: Real Madrid man would win Jose Mourinho the title - Jamie Redknapp

GARETH BALE would win Manchester United the Premier League title if he was to join from Real Madrid this summer.

That is according to pundit and former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

Bale has been linked with away from Real Madrid after falling out of favour under Zinedine Zidane last season.

The Welshman has won three Champions League titles in his four years at the Bernabeu but has struggled with fitness problems, especially last term.

Manchester United are one of several teams who would be keen on bringing Bale back to England.

Manager Jose Mourinho confirmed today he would try and sign him if he was not part of the Real squad for the Super Cup tomorrow against his United side.

Redknapp does not think Bale will move in this window but reckons it would be a wonderful piece of business.

"I don't (think it will happen) but if it did, I think you should just give United the trophy now," Redknapp said on Sky Sports News.

"It won't be to do with anyone else because Gareth Bale would rip the Premier League apart if he came here.

"I think that the way that he plays in that team, he'd be sensational.

"There's only a few players that can do what he can. The goal he scored for Real Madrid when he run off the pitch, he's sensational.

"He's made for the Premier League but he's also been made for the Spanish league."

Bale has scored 54 La Liga goals in 100 appearances for Real since joining from Tottenham in 2013.
