Man Utd rejected chance to sign Real Madrid star Isco because his HEAD was too big

MANCHESTER UNITED rejected the chance to sign Real Madrid playmaker Isco because his ‘head was too big’ according to a shock report.

Mourinho gives Super Cup medal to fan after Real Madrid defeat

Manchester United were put to the sword by a swashbuckling Real Madrid side in the European Super Cup last night.

Casemiro struck an opener before Isco - a player once linked with a move to Old Trafford - doubled Los Blancos’ lead.

Romeu Lukaku netted a consolation on his competitive United debut but it was not enough to give Jose Mourinho’s side a fourth trophy in just over a year.

Isco has emerged as one of Real Madrid’s most important players under Zinedine Zidane, keeping Gareth Bale out of the team towards the latter stages of last season.

And ESPN claim he could very nearly have been a United player.

It is said the Red Devils heavily scouted him during his time at Malaga, where he was taking La Liga by storm.

Sir Alex Ferguson, however, was given a report that supposedly read as such: "He's good, but not quite quick enough and his head is too big for his body.”

Jose Mourinho will no doubt be bemoaning Sir Alex Ferguson's failure to sign Isco

Speaking at full-time last night, current United manager Jose Mourinho admitted Real’s midfield of Isco, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric is just too good to cope with.

"The midfield players of Real Madrid there are only one, there are no replicas," he said.

"No replicas of Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco, no replicas of Casemiro, so they are really solid and the way they move the ball makes it difficult."
