Chelsea ran away with the title last season as Arsenal and Manchester United missed out on a top-four finish.

Pep Guardiola’s side finished fourth but following a huge spending spree this summer, former Tottenham star Jenas reckons City will be lifting the trophy come May.

“I’m finding it very hard not to see Manchester City winning it,” he told GQ magazine.

“With a year under his belt and having developed an understanding of what is required to compete in the Premier League, I think this will be Pep Guardiola’s season.”

Then there is a second tier of Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool… with Tottenham at the head of that pack filling the fourth-place slot.

Jenas also feels the race for the top four has been blown open in recent years with six teams all capable of securing Champions League football.

However, he feels Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs are the ones that will be scrapping it out to make up the prestigious European places at the end of the campaign.

“For a long time there was the big four, but nowadays there are six teams competing for those Champions League slots and I see it as two groups of three,“ he added.

“The big group is Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Jermaine Jenas reckons Pep Guardiola can lead Manchester City to the Premier League title

“Then there is a second tier of Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool… with Tottenham at the head of that pack filling the fourth-place slot.

“Spurs are a very good team and if they could rely on their starting XI all year I could see them finishing second or third.

“But if they don’t add at least two decent players to their squad they will get caught out.”

The Premier League season begins tomorrow when Arsenal host Leicester at the Emirates (7.45pm).
