Jack Wilshere starts for Arsenal

It is Wilshere's first appearance in an Arsenal shirt since August 27 against Watford in the Premier League.

After that match, the England international was sent on a season long loan to Bournemouth.

A broken leg in April cut short the loan deal and Wilshere has only just returned to full training in this month.

Speaking last week about Wilshere, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was unable to guarantee the midfielder, who has one year left on his contract, will still be at the club.

“That decision is not completely made,” he said.

“I want him to have a chance to play somewhere as well. We have to decide that a bit later. I wanted first him to come back, he is coming out of a fracture.

“It is the first week he is back in full training and we have to sit down together and see where we go from there.”

But Wilshere has the chance to build up his fitness this evening in a strong line-up which includes Francis Coquelin and Kieran Gibbs.

Reiss Nelson, who impressed greatly for Arsenal in pre-season, is also given a run out.
