Neymar shocked the football world this summer by making a stunning £200million move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.

The French club broke the bank to meet the Brazil international's release clause and are also paying him a staggering £940,000 a week before tax.

The 25-year-old's move dwarfed the previous transfer record of £89m set by Paul Pogba to Manchester United last summer.

And United legend Rio Ferdinand has admitted he would loved to have seen Neymar join his former club instead, calling the move "dirty".

"Neymar's up for £196m… Man United are one of the richest clubs in the world," Ferdinand said on his Youtube channel Five.

"I would have loved to have seen him go to Manchester United.

"Neymar in a red Man United shirt? Number 7, woah or number 11.

"Dirty, it would have been dirty but it wasn't to be."

However, Ferdinand admitted he was not bitter and could understand why Neymar had opted for a big-money move to PSG.

"He's packed up and gone to Paris, the city of love, I can understand that," he added.

"Won all he could win at Barcelona and wants to find a new challenge.

"Also there's a fair bit of money involved - just a little bit. The game's a business don't let anyone try and tell you it's football."
