MANCHESTER UNITED goalkeeper David De Gea sent a League One shot stopper a message after an unbelievable triple save circulated online.

took to Twitter to praise Fleetwood Town’s goalkeeper Alex Cairns after a phenomenal triple save at the weekend. 

The Manchester United keeper was impressed by the League One keeper's close-range stops on Saturday as they played Northampton Town. 

Cairns twice denied Aaron Pierre, first with a header and then a quick shot at goal. 

The Fleetwood stopper was speedy to react as he managed to keep a strike from Billy Waters out of the net seconds later.

The Fleetwood players quickly crowded around their keeper to congratulate him for his efforts as he focused on securing a clean sheet for his team as they went on to win 1-0. 

After spotting the video online, Manchester United keeper De Gea praised the unbelievable saves. 

Fleetwood Tweeted: “#ftfc keeper @AlexCairns30 denied @ntfc not once, not twice, but three times with three incredible close-range saves yesterday! Wow!”

The Spanish stopper described the stop as “#the best save” as he sent an applause emoji to Cairns. 

The Premier League keeper was not the only one impressed by the save which was seen online thousands of times.

Online commentators took to Twitter to praise the keeper for his triple save. 

One said: “Dude them saves yesterday! Different gravy.” 

Another added: “Absolute class, keep working hard! Dream will turn reality, if it hasn't already! Thanks for the entertainment!”

“Wow, that second save was incredible,” a third said.
