Romelu Lukaku will win Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year at Man Utd - Gerry Francis

MANCHESTER UNITED star Romelu Lukaku will cap his first season off at Old Trafford by claiming the Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year awards.

Lukaku hails 'dream' Premier League debut for Man Utd

That is the opinion of West Brom first-team coach Gerry Francis.

Lukaku joined Manchester United from Everton last month for an initial £75million.

The Belgian scored 25 Premier League goals last season and netted twice on his United league debut in the 4-0 win over West Ham on Sunday.

The only player to score more than Lukaku last term was Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who scored seven in his final two games against Leicester and Hull to end on an impressive 29.

I think Romelu Lukaku going to be the leading goalscorer

Francis reckons Lukaku will have the better over Kane this time around and will outscore Premier League new-boys Alexandre Lacazette at Arsenal and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata.

“Start of last season I went Harry Kane, got the right one there,” Francis said on Sky Sports.

“I’m going to go with Lukaku this year. It’s difficult coming into the Premier League and getting bang onto your game, getting 20-30 goals.

“I think the other two boys know the Premier League.”

Francis has backed Lukaku to also beat Kane to the player of the year, after predicting United to win the title.

“I’ll go Lukaku (for player of the year),” he added.

“I think he’s going to be the leading goalscorer. I think Harry Kane will run him close but I think Manchester United will make a lot of chances and Lukaku is the boy to finish them.

“I think Manchester United will win it so I’ve got to go for the man I think will make the difference.”

Lukaku will look to add to his tally for United when they visit Swansea this Saturday (12.30pm).
