Arsenal must spend £90m on Alexis Sanchez replacement - Ray Parlour

ARSENAL will have to dig deep into their transfer budget if they sell Alexis Sanchez this summer, Ray Parlour has warned.

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal ace Sanchez is going nowhere

Arsenal want to keep Sanchez but are risking the player leaving on a free transfer when his contract runs out next summer.

Manchester City are considering a £60million bid to sign the Chile international this month.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger doesn’t want to sell and is hoping to change Sanchez’s mind on a new contract before the end of the season.

And Gunners legend Parlour has backed Wenger to keep Sanchez - in part because the boss won’t be able to find a replacement at the same price this summer.

“There are big decisions that have to be made with Alexis,” Parlour said on talkSPORT.

Arsenal want to keep Alexis Sanchez this season

“They have to look at his character. He loves football.

“I would keep him because you have to replace him and you can’t.

“They have Lacazette as well, playing with Ozil. If you want to keep in the top four you need to keep your top players.

“How much to replace him in this current market? Sam Clucas from Hull, £20m? Is he in Sanchez’s class? How much would it cost to replace someone like Sanchez. Coutinho standard? So £80m or £90m.

Manchester City are keen to sign Alexis Sanchez for £60m

“Arsenal don’t need the money as much as they used to. When you see the likes of Van Persie and Nasri leave.

“Now it’s a totally different situation business wise. They’ve got money in the bank.

“If you want to get into the top four and challenge the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea you have to keep your best players.”
