Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid.

However, Jose Mourinho has no intention of letting the Spain international leave Old Trafford this month.

Despite that stance, Real continue to track the 26-year-old and feel they will land the Red Devils' No1 one day in the future.

Yet The Sun claim David De Gea could have ended up joining Juventus instead.

It is said that Raiola told the Serie A giants to focus on signing De Gea so another of his clients, AC Milan's Gianluigi Donnarumma, could move to the Premier League side.

Donnarumma initially snubbed an offer of a new deal from Milan, before performing a u-turn and committing his future to the San Siro outfit.

But Raiola thought that, if De Gea left for Juventus, it would pave the way for Donnarumma to seal a move to Jose Mourinho's side.

Juventus were initially pursuing Donnarumma but The Sun claim Milan were never going to let him go to a direct rival.

Instead, they ended up signing Wojciech Szczesny from Arsenal after De Gea told them he would only consider a return to Spain.

Szczesny signed for Massimiliano Allegri's side after spending the last two years on loan at Roma.

Speaking after penning a four-year deal, the Poland international said: "I'm really happy to be here. I've already spoken to Buffon, a legend in our game, and I can learn a lot from him.

"I'm not feeling any pressure, I'm here to represent the club at the highest level. When you come to Juve, it's because you've been chosen. I had no hesitation.

"In football there's always room for improvement. I'm proud of the work I've done thus far and I'm ready for this new challenge - Juventus is the best choice for the next stage of my career.

"Do I have any weaknesses? No, I'm a Juventus player now!"
