La Liga Transfer News: Barcelona wanted Real Madrid raid, Gareth Bale has Man Utd thoughts

LA LIGA transfer news is coming thick and fast with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid looking to strengthen their squad. Express Sport brings you the latest news.

Barcelona wanted Real Madrid duo Marco Asensio and Isco after Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain, reports say.

The Catalan giants are currently chasing Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele.

But Spanish outlet Diario Gol claim Asensio and Isco were initially on their list.

However, Barcelona now know that neither player wants to swap the Bernabeu for the Nou Camp.

Asensio's reputation is scaling new heights after he tore Ernesto Valverde's side to shreds in both legs of the Spanish Super Cup.

Isco, meanwhile, signed a new four-year deal at the Bernabeu earlier this month with £640million release clause.

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale thinks a move to Manchester United would be a step down.

That's according to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, who claim the Wales international is reluctant to move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have long harboured hopes of luring Bale back to England, where he previously played for Tottenham and Southampton.

But it appears that, given Real's success, the 28-year-old is reluctant to leave.

Guillem Balague thinks Atletico Madrid ARE planning for life with Chelsea striker Diego Costa.

And the Sky Sports pundit also thinks Antoine Griezmann is key to Diego Simeone's side.

"Griezmann will not move from Atletico Madrid this summer, he is staying," he said.

"And the idea is with Griezmann, and Costa, and Vitolo when he comes in January, that this team can challenge for the league. That’s Diego Simeone’s plan."
