Tottenham transfer news: Danny Rose would cost £54m for Man Utd or Chelsea

DANNY ROSE will hold talks with Tottenham this week about his future after his explosive interview earlier this month.

Tim Sherwood: Spurs cannot lose Danny Rose

Rose stunned Spurs when he told The Sun he felt he had “one big contract left” in his career and felt “time is running out to win trophies”.

He then appeared to demand a pay rise claiming: “I know my worth and I will make sure I get what I am worth.”

Rose later issued an apology admitting his comments were “ill-judged” but Manchester United and Chelsea are known to be interested in the left-back, with Luke Shaw's future is in doubt.

Nevertheless, Spurs are yet to receive any bids for the defender and The Independent says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will make his position clear when he meets with Rose’s agent on Wednesday.

It is claimed Spurs would want at least £54million for Rose, which is the same fee they received for Kyle Walker when he was sold to Manchester City.

Rose shares the same agent as Kyle Walker, Mark Rankine.

Rose’s relationship with manager Mauricio Pochettino is also said to have cooled as a result of his comments.

Danny Rose's future will be determined this week

But Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle reckons Rose we have received the backing of his team-mates.

He said: "Deep down his team-mates will be thinking, 'Well done, Danny'.

"'You've put your head above the parapet but you're only saying what we're all thinking'.

"We can all agree that the timing was wrong, coming at the start of the season and after six months of injury. Few would argue with the sentiment."
