Everton Transfer News: Chelsea and Tottenham want Ross Barkley despite injury - Gilmour

CHELSEA and Tottenham are still both interested in signing Everton star Ross Barkley.

Ross Barkley scores for Everton against Burnley

Barkley’s future has been up in the air throughout the summer after refusing to sign a new contract at Everton.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman will allow the England midfielder leave the club if his asking price is met.

Koeman has already brought in Davy Klaassen, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney in the transfer window who can all play in Barkley’s position.

Sky Sports reporter Paul Gilmour claims Everton are yet to receive a sufficient bid for Barkley.

But London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham are looking to battle it out for him, despite the 23-year-old suffering a serious hamstring injury in training recently.

“Staying with Tottenham, what about Ross Barkley?” Gilmour said on Sky Sports this afternoon.

“Tottenham, along with Chelsea, remain interested in the Everton player.

“Barkley has told Everton he will not sign a new contract.
