JURGEN KLOPP admits Philippe Coutinho is not available for tomorrow's visit of Hoffenheim due to illness.

Coutinho is yet to feature for Liverpool so far this campaign after picking up a back injury during pre-season.

The Brazil international has also been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer after handing in a transfer request earlier this month.

Liverpool face Hoffenheim in the second leg of their Champions League play-off with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg - but Coutinho will again not feature.

Klopp suggests Coutinho has recovered from his back problem, but the 25-year-old has been ruled out due to illness.

If Phil will start tomorrow, he can, but he’s now ill

"If Phil will start tomorrow, he can, but he’s now ill," Klopp said. "For him it was not that serious.

"If he would start tomorrow, it would take time. We have to take time to see when he’ll be back."

Reports surfaced this morning that Coutinho has demanded clear-the-air talks with Klopp after accepting his dream move to Barcelona is over.

But when asked about the speculation, the Reds boss added: "I think I never gave a comment on whoever wrote or said.

"It’s 100 per cent that nothing changed. My English is not good enough for 500 answers, always the same question, nothing changed."
