Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is in the final 12 months of his contract and is yet to agree a new deal with Arsenal.

Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool have both been linked with moves for the 24-year-old as uncertainty grows about his future.

However, the Gunners are hoping to put the rumours to bed and will reportedly hold negotiations with the England international this week.

Sky Sports claim Oxlade-Chamberlain will meet with Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis for talks, likely to be held tomorrow.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of three Arsenal players who are out of contract next year, including Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

And despite the threat of losing the trio, Wenger admitted last week he remains confident they will pen new deals.

"We always hope, even now, that we can extend the contracts of Sanchez, Chamberlain and Ozil," he said.

The Arsenal boss also talked up Oxlade-Chamberlain and suggested he would be a big part of his plans at the Emirates over the next two seasons.

“I rate him highly and he's one of the players who is on his way up,” Wenger added.

“In the last year, he has made huge progress and I want him to stay here for a long time.

"I'm convinced he will be the English player that everybody will look at in the next two years."

He has made three appearances for the Gunners this term in all competitions but is yet to score or provide an assist.
