Barcelona are preparing to make a final £138m offer for the Liverpool ace.

And, according to Gerard Romero, the club have officials on Merseyside to open talks.

Liverpool are expected to reject the bid, with some reports claiming they have already rejected it before receiving it.

Spanish football Guillem Balague claims Coutinho has asked Barcelona to make this bid.

Philippe Coutinho has asked Barcelona to make another bid to Liverpool

And they will despite knowing it will fail and that they can’t afford to pay £138m and still get their other targets.

Barca are keen to keep their relationship with Coutinho strong despite giving up on signing him this season.

“FCB are very aware LFC are not selling but have been asked by Coutinho to give it a last go. FCB don't want Coutinho upset for future,” Balague tweeted.

“Coutinho expects FCB 2 offer €140 but they cant afford him,  Dembele,di Maria and Seri.So they putting efforts mostly on Dembele/di Maria

“The relevant people at FCB believe a new offer 4 Courinho won't be accepted by Liverpool.”

And Barcelona appear to be closing in on Di Maria but the deal for Jean Michael Seri is now dead after they failed to agree a fee with Nice.
