Lucas Perez has made it clear he wishes to leave Arsenal this summer and has been linked with a host of clubs.

His former side Deportivo La Coruna are thought to be leading the race to sign the 28-year-old.

The London Evening Standard claim they are hopeful of completing a £14million deal for the winger this week.

However, the report says Everton could scupper the Spanish side’s plans with a late bid.

The Toffees attempted to sign Perez last summer before Arsenal hijacked the deal.

And Ronald Koeman admitted on Monday night following the 1-1 draw at Manchester City the club are in the market for another forward.

“When Sandro came on Wayne Rooney had more freedom and we had pace up front which made the team better,” he said.

“We know that we would like another striker.

“You normally need two nines in the squad. I am really confident that we can bring in a good one to make us better.”

However, Everton could struggle to lure Perez to Goodison Park as he has his heart set on a return to Spain.

Speaking last month about his future, Perez said: "I want to leave to play and be happy.

"I think the best place for me is at home, with Depor. They [Arsenal] are not behaving well with me."
