Liverpool faced Hoffenheim in the second leg of their Champions League second leg play-off at Anfield, leading 2-1 on aggregate coming into the game.

Jurgen Klopp’s side started the match with a bang, scoring three times in the first 21 minutes to kill the tie off.

Emre Can scored twice and new summer-signing Mohamed Salah grabbed the other.

Sadio Mane was influential in Liverpool’s forward play and played a key part in Can’s opener in particular.

“’Oh Mane Mane’,” Gerrard replied whilst laughing.

“There you go you see, you heard it first right here,” Lineker said.

The Anfield faithful repaid their former captain by singing his famous 'Steve Gerrard, Gerrard' song in the second half.

Liverpool went on to win the game 4-2 on the night, 6-3 on aggregate.

Mane will look to have Liverpool fans chanting his name again this Sunday when Arsenal visit Anfield. Victory over Arsene Wenger's side would mean four wins in a row for the Reds.
