Liverpool boss Klopp sums up Hoffenheim display: 'Amazing' is the only word to describe it

JURGEN KLOPP was almost lost for words when asked to describe Liverpool's 4-2 win over Hoffenheim this evening.

But the German boss settled on one word in particular: amazing.

Liverpool sealed their return to the Champions League group stages in emphatic fashion at Anfield.

Having held a 2-1 lead from the first leg there was no way Liverpool were going to sit back and hold onto their narrow one-goal cushion.

The Reds found themselves 3-0 up inside 21 minutes thanks to a brace from Emre Can and a close-range strike from Mohamed Salah.

Hoffenheim's two away goals caused little concern as Roberto Firmino's late strike ensured Liverpool wrapped up a comfortable 4-2 win over the Germans.

And Klopp was delighted with his side's efforts at full-time.

"I do not have enough words it is amazing. It is 14 months of the hardest work and it feels amazing. I can't find another word," he said.

"A big big big compliment to my team. They played a perfect opening half an hour. I asked them at half-time to remember the feeling they had at 3-0 and to put it away.

"But credit to Hoffenheim they played football and continued to enjoy the game. They can score two goals because of their quality.

"We didn't think we were the favourites but everyone else did so we had the pressure but the boys did good."
