Liverpool Transfer News: Jurgen Klopp needs three players before window shuts - Clarke

LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp has been told he needs to buy three more players before the transfer window shuts in seven days time.

Allardyce: Mamadou Sakho the answer to Liverpool's defense issues

Klopp has brought in Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson and Dominic Solanke so far this summer.

Liverpool have had a strong start to the season and are unbeaten in their four games in all competitions, including overcoming Hoffenheim 6-3 on aggregate to reach the Champions League group stages last night.

However, the Reds are still in the market for new players, with Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk heavily linked with a move.

But defence is not the only position that needs improving, according to journalist and former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke.

For me Liverpool need a centre-half, probably a defensive midfielder and still a goalie in my opinion

Clarke believes Klopp needs to bring in a new defensive midfielder and a goalkeeper, as well as replacing centre-back Dejan Lovren, who was at fault for a Hoffenheim goal yesterday.

“Defensively they’ve got problems, they need to strengthen big time,” Clarke said on talkSPORT.

“Dejan Lovren, again a mistake for a goal. I think his place has got to be in jeopardy.
