Zlatan Ibrahimovic Man Utd return: Thierry Henry not surprised, thinks he will unite camp

THIERRY HENRY has explained he is not remotely surprised that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has rejoined Manchester United.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic signs new deal with Man Utd

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was released by Manchester United in June after a serious knee injury towards the end of last season curtailed his involvement.

But the Swede and could feature in the second-half of the campaign once he has fully recovered.

Ibrahimovic will bring a lot of experience to the United dressing room, having won four championships in four different leagues he has played.

The 35-year-old will take the No.10 shirt left behind by Wayne Rooney, who joined Everton this summer.

And Henry thinks Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku will reap the rewards of having Ibrahimovic around, and the dressing room will be a much better place with his presence.

If I was there [at Man Utd] I would want to keep a guy like Zlatan in and around the dressing room

“I'm not surprised, because if I was there [at Man Utd] I would want to keep a guy like Zlatan in and around the dressing room,” Henry told Sky Sports.

“Having him around (Romelu) Lukaku, having him around Marcus Rashford [is beneficial]. Rashford was talking about it last year, he knows how to get that dressing room together.

"I'm not surprised in a way because we are talking about Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the best that has done it in the game, for me."

Henry also reckons Ibrahimovic has returned because he wants to get his hands on the Premier League.

He added: “They kept Zlatan, but I think Zlatan takes it as a challenge that he has with himself.

“I think he wants to do more, and he still didn't win the league.

"I know that he wants to win the Premier League, to make England another country that he conquered."

Ibrahimovic made 46 appearances last term, scoring 28 times in all competitions.
