Real Madrid transfer news: Cristiano Ronaldo has only expressed desire for Man Utd move

REAL MADRID star Cristiano Ronaldo has only expressed a desire to join Manchester United, according to journalist Ian McGarry.

Man Utd coach reveals Cristiano Ronaldo's secret training regime

Ronaldo wanted to leave Real Madrid at the start of the transfer window after being accused of defrauding the Spanish tax authorities.

That consequently put former club Manchester United on red alert, though manager Jose Mourinho was quick to quell talk of a sensational return.

And McGarry, speaking on the Transfer News podcast, says Ronaldo clearly only harbours hopes of heading back to Old Trafford - but can’t see it happening.

“Unfortunately, I do not see Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United,” he said.

“It is the only place he has indicated he would consider going to if he left Real Madrid.

“I think this [desire to leave] is just more posturing from the great one.

“I think he is trying to throw his wait around with the Spanish aurhoties.

“Both in football and out of football he’s saying do you really want to lose one of Spain’s biggest stars?

“Given the attraction he has and the money generated from Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga losing him would be a travesty.”
