Ibrahimovic has re-joined Manchester United on a one-year deal but is not set to be fit until January.

The 35-year-old suffered a serious knee injury last season which initially ended his stay at the club.

Ibrahimovic scored 28 times in all competitions last season, his first campaign in England, and was United’s top scorer.

United signed Romelu Lukaku as his replacement this summer from Everton for an initial £75million.

Ibrahimovic is expected to be second choice behind the Belgian when he is fit but Hargreaves reckons he can still have a big impact this season.

"He's a world class player, he scored a ton of goals last season and I think he's a mentor,” Hargreaves said on BT Sport.

“He's mentoring (Romelu) Lukaku, (Anthony) Martial, Marcus Rashford

“I’m sure Zlatan Ibrahimovic's presence in that dressing room is going to have a massive impact for some of these younger United players.

“From January on he will get them goals and be a leader for them as well.
