Arsenal News: Players unhappy with club’s transfer plans, Sanchez future big concern

ARSENAL players are reportedly unhappy over the stale nature surrounding the club.

Martin Keown: This is a crisis for Arsenal

Arsenal have made two signings so far this summer - breaking their club record to land Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon for £52.7million and nabbing Sead Kolasinac on a free from Schalke.

Meanwhile, the futures of some of their senior stars remain uncertain.

Alexis Sanchez is out of contract at the end of the season along with Mesut Ozil, while with the Gunners to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

The winger, it is understood, is expected to have a medical at England’s headquarters at St George’s Park ahead of the Three Lions’ World Cup qualifying clash against Malta on Friday.

Arsenal were given a huge wake-up call on Sunday when they were thrashed 4-0 away to Liverpool.

The result spelled a fresh crisis for Arsene Wenger, who side have won only one of their three Premier League games this season.

But off the pitch, the players are concerned over the direction of the club.

The Daily Mirror claim that the futures of Sanchez, Ozil and Oxlade-Chamberlain has created a sense of ‘apathy’ among the squad.

It is suggested some players do not care enough or believe the club have a genuine chance of fighting for trophies.

The Mirror also claim there is a real sense of disappointment enveloping the dressing room, with some hoping for big changes.

When asked about Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future after the defeat to the Reds, Wenger said: “That’s not the kind of question I can answer after a game like that.

“I think we are focused on the game, what will happen on the transfer market in the next three to four days I don’t know.”

The Gunners will also have to stave off interest from Manchester City for Sanchez, with recent reports suggesting Pep Guardiola is prepared to work right up until the wire on deadline day to secure a deal.
