LIVERPOOL CEO Peter Moore says he doesn’t know about a deal to sell Philippe Coutinho amid reports of a £148.5m agreement with Barcelona.

Reports this evening claimed Liverpool had finally agreed to sell Coutinho to Barcelona after weeks of speculation.

Liverpool fans are understandably upset about the possibility of losing their star and some vented their frustrations at Moore, who has been on the board since succeeding Ian Ayre as chief executive.

One supporter, Tyler Smith, sent a tweet to Liverpool owner John W Henry and Moore saying: “So much for keeping Coutinho.

“FSG are a bunch of s*** houses with a sell to buy policy. Clubs going no-where!”

Fenway Sports Group have been steadfast in their refusal to even discuss a deal for Coutinho.

Earlier this month they released a statement saying: “We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho.

Philippe Coutinho's move to Barcelona has been denied

“The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”

Moore’s may mean Liverpool are still maintaining their stance that Coutinho will not leave this summer.

And that any players arriving in the final days of the transfer window, like Thomas Lemar and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, are not dependent on Coutinho’s future.
