City have made a cash-only offer for the Chilean forward, but Arsenal are thought to be keen on a deal involving either Raheem Sterling or Sergio Aguero as makeweights.
The Gunners insist Sanchez will see out the final year of his contract, while Pep Guardiola is ready to test their resolve by pursuing the want-away forward.
Time is running out to find a replacement if Sanchez does leave the Emirates, making a cash plus player deal all the more attractive to Arsenal.
However with Neymar moving for a world-record £198m and Ousmane Dembele joining Barcelona for £135.5m, Gunners fans are less than impressed with City's measly offer for Sanchez.
