Arsenal transfer news: Draxler and Lemar enquiries made, £70m Sanchez to Man City move key

ARSENAL have made last-gasp approaches to sign Julian Draxler and Thomas Lemar, according to reports.

Julian Draxler demonstrates deadly finishing ability for PSG

Both Julian Draxler and Thomas Lemar have been heavily linked with moves to Arsenal this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his ranks.

The Gunners boss has only signed two players in the shape of Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac in this transfer window.

And he has come under heavy criticism already this season with ’s 4-0 drubbing at Liverpool being particularly poignant.

However, in order to elevate this pressure and get fans back on side, Wenger has made last-minute approaches for Draxler and Lemar - report The Daily Mirror.

Draxler, 23, appears to be surplus to requirements at PSG with Neymar signing in a world-record £200m deal from Barcelona and Kylian Mbappe close to joining the club on loan from Monaco.

The Germany international has maintained that he is not interested in leaving the Parc des Princes.

Arsenal have made enquiries for Julian Draxler and Thomas Lemar

But The Mirror say Arsenal, who are long-term admirers of the forward, have made a last-ditch attempt to bring him to the Emirates before the transfer window closes at 11pm tonight.

Wenger has also apparently been in contact with Monaco and has made another enquiry about Lemar.

The 21-year-old was Wenger’s top transfer target, but the Gunners boss was told last week that the Ligue 1 champions have no interest in selling the France international.

However, he has since been the subject of two bids from rivals Liverpool, but both offers were rejected.

But as a result Wenger, who has also had two bids rejected by Monaco for Lemar, is ready to try his luck again.

The Mirror add Draxler’s possible move will play a huge part in ’s future.

Sanchez, 28, is the subject of interest from with Pep Guardiola keen to secure a reunion with him at the Etihad.

City have reportedly already had a £50m bid rejected by Arsenal for Sanchez’s services.

And they are apparently ready to lodge another bid for him in excess of £60m.

However, Arsenal are playing hardball over his transfer and have told City they want £70m for their prized asset.

But it is said the only way Arsenal will offload Sanchez to City is if Draxler signs on the dotted line before the transfer window slams shut.

The report adds Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez is another back-up option for Wenger should he miss out on Draxler and Lemar.
