Arsenal news: Alexis Sanchez to Man City could be title-winning decision - Duncan Castles

ALEXIS SANCHEZ’S move from Arsenal to Manchester City could be a title-winning decision if it is pulled off.

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal ace Sanchez is going nowhere

Those are the thoughts of journalist Duncan Castles.

Arsene Wenger has repeatedly said Sanchez will not be leaving this summer, despite the 28-year-old being in the final year of his contract.

City have already had a £50million bid rejected, with the Gunners holding out for closer to £70m.

Reports yesterday suggested City have sent representatives to Chile to try and put everything in place for a deadline day deal.

And Castles thinks that like when Robin van Persie joined Manchester United from Arsenal in 2012, Sanchez could have the same effect as the Dutchman and win the title in his first season there.

I think Graham Hunter brings up a solid point when he says it could be a title-winning decision

Duncan Castles

“He’s first choice. I think Graham Hunter brings up a solid point when he says it could be a title-winning decision,” Castles said on The Transfer Window Podcast.

“There is a parallel of when Sir Alex Ferguson took Robin van Persie and it helped United to win the title.

“You are potentially looking at a similar situation.

“Pep Guardiola doesn’t like Sergio Aguero - he doesn’t rate him, he wants him out of the team.

“He thinks he’s wasteful and doesn’t contribute to the tactical side of things.

“Sanchez would takes Aguero’s place in the team.”
