Mamadou Sakho spent half the season on loan with Crystal Palace last term and made a huge impact at Selhurst Park.

The south London club made it apparent they were interested in signing the Frenchman but his £30million price-tag was a stumbling block.

However, a £22m deal plus £3m add-ons is rumoured to have been agreed by both parties for the former Paris Saint-Germain man.

And Anfield legend Jamie Carragher has claimed he fully expects the 27-year-old to make the move to Palace.

"I think he’ll go,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“There are a number of clubs interested in the Premier League.

"Crystal Palace have a different manager [Frank de Boer] and that might be a problem going forward.

“I’m not sure how much he knows about him and the club still look like they want to bring Sakho in.

"But it’s understandable because he was so good for them last season in staying up with Sam Allardyce.

"I’d expect him to go there, I think they're arguing over a fee now and eventually they'll get there.

"Liverpool don't want the player, Crystal Palace want him so I’m sure there will be a deal done eventually."

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have also been linked with a move for Manchester City centre-half Eliaquim Managala.
