Liverpool star Emre Can could join Juventus next summer

Liverpool star Can has refused to sign a new contract at Anfield and looks set to leave at the end of the season.

Reports in Italy yesterday claimed Juve can sign Can for as little as £9million come January.

Corriere dello Sport claim Liverpool will be willing to listen to offers by that point as they don’t want to lose the player on a free come the summer.

But another Italian paper, this time Tuttosport, report that Juve hold the cards in negotiations and will instead hold out until the end of the season before securing the Germany international.

According to the claims, Juve have a contract already lined up that will see Can pledge his future to the Turin side until 2023.

Juventus are determined to avoid the mistakes made when chasing Axel Wiesel in 2012 and so have already settled terms with Can.

Tuttosport claim Juve director Beppe Marotta is still scarred by his failure to land Witsel, who was all set to join the Italian giants before Zenit swooped in with a deal at the last minute.

Can is free to begin talks over a free transfer from January and Juve want the agreement in place before the close of the winter transfer window.
