Liverpool News: Andy Robertson scores stunning goal for Scotland - video

LIVERPOOL’s Andy Robertson described his sensational goal for Scotland as one he’ll “always remember.”

The defender played a huge part in Scotland’s 3-0 victory over Lithuania last night as they took another three crucial points in the race for a World Cup place.

Robertson scored the second with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box -  his second international goal from 16 caps.

“It's a rare occasion and luckily it just flew into the back of the net," he told BBC Scotland.

"It'll be one that I'll always remember. Scoring for your country is always a massive honour."

Robertson has enjoyed a busy summer after securing an £8million move to Liverpool from Hull and recently became a father for the first time ahead of meeting up with Scotland for their latest World Cup qualifier.

The left-back added: "It's been incredible.

“It's been a big change for me, my girlfriend and now the little one. My missus has dealt with it brilliantly, moving house when she was due two weeks later, so hats off to her.

"It's been great for both of us, but it's been hard this week to come away from them both, but she's doing a great job and wee man's in safe hands.

"It's been good to come away with the lads, get another cap for my country and to top it off with a goal is a dream come true."

Scotland’s win over Lithuania leaves them third in Group F, four points behind second-placed Slovakia and six adrift of leaders England.
